3 of the best places for sushi in Bath

21 February 2018

Many people come to Bath for the stunning Georgian architecture, but for others – it’s all about the food. The city is a foodie’s paradise, with a staggering choice of cuisines from all over the world. You’ll find everything here from tried-and-tested chain restaurants to independent eateries, as well as fine dining, pop-up kitchens and street food.

And of course, you’ll find sushi. Here’s our guide to some of the best places for sushi in Bath, whether you’re looking for a full-on Japanese feast or a quick nibble for lunch…

YO! Sushi

It may not be an independent eatery like some of the other unique, quirky restaurants in Bath, but YO! Sushi more than makes up for this with top-notch sushi. It’s also great value and has a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. This Bath sushi bar offers everything you’d expect, including a sushi conveyor belt featuring over 90 Japanese-inspired items made from extremely fresh ingredients. You can eat in for a casual, fish-rich lunch, or choose some bits and pieces to take away.

You’ll find YO! Sushi Bath on Milsom Place, close to our charming Queen’s View apartment.

Yen Sushi

Often named on TripAdvisor as the best sushi restaurant in Bath, Yen Sushi is a modern restaurant with a consistently excellent choice of dishes. A relaxed, sociable place for lunch or an early evening meal, Yen Sushi also has a range of hot dishes alongside its fresh sushi. The price range is extremely affordable and many items are prepared right in front of you, by skilled staff who really do seem to know their onions.  Arrive early on a Friday or Saturday evening as it can get busy!

Yen Sushi Bath is tucked away on Bartlett Street, not far from YO! Sushi but closer to The Circus. Looking to stay nearby? Our Alfred Street and Artizan’s Nest apartments are handily located just around the corner.

Bath Sushi

Also coming highly recommended by Bath’s sushi fans is this gem just outside of the city centre. Bath Sushi may be a little distance away from the centre’s main attractions, but it could well be worth the trip. Alternatively, if you don’t fancy travelling, the restaurant also offers a service for sushi takeaway in Bath. Some visitors rate this as the best sushi in Bath, with a number of fresh, tasty options at an affordable price. Alongside the sushi is a choice of hot topped rice bowls and fried noodle dishes. Top tip if you’re planning to visit Bath Sushi – don’t leave without trying the sashimi.

You’ll find Bath Sushi on Lower Bristol Road, to the west of the city centre and just across the River Avon from our gorgeous Green Park Garden Apartment if you fancy staying nearby.

In a rush?

While on the topic of sushi, we have to mention Dashi Sushi at Bath Spa railway station. If you’re after a quick lunch on the run, especially if you have a train to catch, grab some sushi on the go from Dashi Sushi.
