The Ground Floor
Entrance, Kitchen, Dining Room, Cloakroom and Garden.
A dramatic entrance sets the scene, with black floors, high white ceilings, elaborate cornicing and a beautiful staircase enticing you to explore. The jaw-dropping kitchen and diner spans the length of the building, from the elegant terrace street front to the tranquil walled garden to the rear. Slabs of sparkling black granite worktops complete a streamlined white fitted kitchen. Along one flank of units is a 5 ring gas hob, an electric oven, a dishwasher and a Magimix coffee maker. Fitted under a vast island is another wide oven, a microwave, 2 small fridges and plenty of storage, along with 4 bar stools. A splendid original decorative marble fireplace has granite topped alcove cupboards on either side, filled with crockery. An additional fitted store cupboard is stocked with cooking utensils. At the other end of the room, 2 large sash windows with their original working shutters overlook the beautiful garden. A large French style dining table with traditional bentwood chairs seats 16. Two tall cabinets display a range of glassware, and a large French dresser and sparkling chandelier add to the elegant atmosphere. A Sonos Bluetooth speaker connects to phones and other devises for music and a phone is provided for local calls.

A half landing lobby leads to a cloakroom and the garden entrance. The pretty cream stone floored cloakroom has a hand-basin with storage under and a WC.

Outside, a lovely walled town garden has been landscaped with pleached limes, box balls and a moore-esque sculpture. Two large stone tables with stone benches seats 16. A footpath though the shrub boarders leads to a gate, with access to a gravel path to Royal Victoria Park. Within the park are tennis courts, crazy golf, a large children’s play area, ice-skating in the winter and hot air balloons taking off in the summer.

The Basement
Twin Bedroom, Bathroom, Entertainment rooms, Utility.
A pretty bedroom with 2 large windows at garden level has a voyagers theme, with two single 3’ beds in cast iron bed frames and trunks for storage. An antique chest has drawers and hanging space is provided in a built-in cupboard in the neighbouring living room.

A very spacious, fully tiled contemporary bathroom, has a large walk-in shower with rainfall shower-head along with a generous hand-basin and WC. A shelf over provides space for toiletries.

A luxurious and indulgent principal bedroom for 2 has an antique 4 poster bed (5’ double) with chests of drawers on either side along with a chaise longue at the foot. An additional navy armchair in one corner doubles as a single sofa-bed and hanging space for clothes is in a large triple wardrobe in the immense bathroom combined with dressing room.

The grand bathroom is a traditional style and continues the black and white theme with black floors and white tiling. In pride of place is a free-standing, roll-top, double ended bath with a semi-circular shower enclosure and rainfall shower at one end. There are two large separate hand-basins and a WC. Testimonials

Lovely place and excellent location
Gay Street House Elen - 2019-07-28
“This house is beautiful with a great location and amenities. Our family had a wonderful time here over Xmas, we also spent my husbands 50th birthday there with a catered dinner and everything was perfect. The host was very responsive and communication was very good. We loved the garden and walking out straight into Victoria park. We were so close to the ice rink, the crazy golf and the kids playground. Our kids had a fabulous time. We will definitely love to come again.”

“Wow....what an amazing house. We stayed for two nights in this absolutely beautiful property. Perfect location and would certainly recommend this. We will definitely be back. Thank you to our perfect host.”
Gay Street House Julie - 2018-12-06
Everything you want it to be. A home from home and then some. My weekend made perfect in terms of place, location and overall wow factor.
Gay Street House James - 2018-09-19
This is a very large house that has been beautifully renovated and furnished. The kitchen is extremely well stocked and great for cooking and entertaining. There is a charming garden with seating for 12 to eat, and the garden backs onto the wonderful Victoria Park. This is not an ideal house for those who have trouble with stairs as the rooms are arranged over 5 floors and there are 20 or so stairs between floors. The fantastic central location also makes it very noisy at night (especially during graduation week!) if you need to have the windows open.

Stayed at Gay Street House for two nights in June 2018 and cannot recommend it enough. The house is perfect for large groups – there were 14 of us celebrating a 40th birthday and there was more than enough space for us all. Even the smallest bedrooms are spacious and the house is in immaculate condition. The garden area is fantastic in good weather and there’s a door at the end of the garden leading to a park behind. Location is really central with bars/shops just around the corner. Only downside for us was the limiter on the sonas – it was set quite low. Sara from Bath Holiday Rentals was so helpful both before and on the weekend. We used Siobhan from The Bath Cook to cater for us on the Saturday night and I would also thoroughly recommend her and her team. I can’t wait to plan a return stay there!

CHRISTMAS IN BATH.
Gay Street House is superbly positioned just two minutes from the Milsom Street shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The Circus and Royal Crescent are also just a two minute walk away. This added advantage means that one does not need a car and there is no added expense, in the form of taxi's.
Number 14 Gay Street is a fantastic place to stay. Every convenience is available in the kitchen with plenty of cutlery, tableware, glasses and seating for 14 or more guests.
Each of the six bedrooms have been individually decorated to a high standard and is surprisingly quiet being so close to the road and with the city just around the corner.
We were met by Sara from Bath Holiday Rentals who explained everything and showed us around the property. Sara is a credit to the company and went out of her way to ensure that the heating system functioned properly on all of the five floors and six bedrooms. Alexa (Property Manager) and her team were available on call even over the Christmas holiday period although we had no need to make contact during the seven night stay.
I would recommend Gay Street House and Bath Holiday rentals for anyone wishing to stay in the centre of Bath in a wonderful Georgian property.

Recently stayed at Gay House in Bath, the property is fabulous the location could not have been better.
Many thanks to Bath Holiday Rentals for sorting our stay, they are a very professional company, all information supplied and assistance on arrival was excellent
Will definitely use them again. Thank you for making my 60th birthday so special.
Gay Street House Paul - 2017-04-18
“This is a beautiful house, centrally located for seeing Bath and excellent value for a large group. We were a group of 13 visiting Bath for two nights for a sports event and the house was perfect. Comfortable, well equipped and more than enough space for us all. There is a lot of fridge space, ample toilets and showers which is a concern when travelling with so many people. You get a parking permit but parking isn't easy but this is to be expected so central in Bath. If you were on holiday you wouldn't need a car anyway as everything is so close to the house. The pictures don't do the property justice it is stunning. It would be lovely for a group of friends or a couple of families and the price is very competitive for that. I would fully recommend it to anyone. ”

Gay Street House Aoife - 2016-09-26
We stayed in Gay Street House for a weekend. We found this accommodation both beautiful and very spacious for 14 people. The interior decor was stunning and the house was well laid out.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. It was located in the centre of Bath which was very convenient. This accommodation would be attractive to any large group looking for a relaxing break in the heart of Bath.
