Hillside Country House and Spa

Hillside Country House
This is a 6 bedroom self-contained house newly built in 2017 in an elevated position, out of red brick and soft wood exterior. It seamlessly blends traditional English style with contemporary cool. All bedrooms offer ensuite bathrooms, egyptian cotton bedding, toiletries, fluffy towels and bathrobes, creston music system and a T.V. Two of the bedrooms have 6' superking beds and the remaining 4 bedrooms have 5' king size beds. 5 out of the 6 ensuites have steam showers whilst the sixth ensuite has a large bath.

The kitchen is fully stocked should you decide to cook and has a single oven with hob, small fridge, espresso machine, filter coffee machine, ice machine and drinks fridge. An extra fridge and microwave can be supplied upon request. Weather dependant you can either enjoy your cooked meal at the large table in the kitchen or outside whilst taking in the breathtaking views of the countryside. Both are equipped with a large table and chairs for 12. The farm shop across the road is open every day except Christmas day, and the pub is open every day of the year. Alternatively we can organise for your stay to be fully catered and fully staffed.

The lounge is located next to the kitchen and provides seating for 12, TV with sky, netflix and apple TV and a wood burning fire.

The piece de resistance is the music system. It is a Creston system in every room of the house as well as the sauna, steam room and trailhead lodge. Therefore where ever you are you have access to unlimited music individually controlled in each room. You can choose from an endless supply of music or bluetooth to your own device to play your own stored music. The devices even control the lighting and heating in each room. Gadget lovers will be in heaven!

There is a fire pit on site but a bbq can be supplied upon request. As can a highchair, travel cot and laundry service. Essentially whatever you need they will try to cater for.

The grounds are spectacular and boast amazing views where ever you are. From the house you lead up a small path to the Hillside sauna and steam house complete with outdoor plunge pool and hot tub overlooking the countryside. A bit further down you have the Trailhead Lodge which combines a bar with dartboard, games, wood burner and comfy sofas, for the ultimate chill out space. And don’t forget to slip on their Hunter wellies should you fancy exploring the Wiltshire countryside.

The spa barn is exclusive for your use and has 3 treatment rooms and a large reception area. Please note, all treatments must be pre-booked.

The Hillside Country house and spa is part of a larger complex with pub, brewery and farm shop, although tucked away from them to give you and your guests complete privacy.

Farm Shop and Brewery
It is open every day except Xmas and is packed full of amazing fresh foods and produce. What’s more, you can enjoy a coffee made with freshly-ground beans whilst watching their brewing team in action from the viewing area overlooking the Three Daggers Brewery. Or sample their ales which are made metres away downstairs and then decide if you’d like a bottle, a flagon, or even a cask of ale for a special occasion.

Three Daggers pub and it's history -

The Three Daggers pub serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is open 365 days of the year.

The site of the Three Daggers pub has been occupied for almost 300 years in a variety of different roles. Local maps identify a barn for wool storage that was in place on the current site where the staff car park now stands. In June 1750 the barn was demolished and cleared to make way for the construction of a public house and inn. Little now remains of that original open plan timber building except for a few original roof beams as the modern pub seen today was primarily built during the Victorian period.

At first the pub had no name and was simply referred to by its patrons as the Three Daggers, in reference to the local Paulet Family crests which were embellished upon its doors and sides. The name seems to have stuck for almost 100 years, only being changed to The Lamb during the middle of the 19th century.

A common misconception is that the ‘Daggers’ was built as a coaching inn to cater for travellers going over Salisbury Plain. The main coaching inn for the village was always the George Inn, a much larger property that lay 200 metres north of the ‘Daggers’ and was built primarily for this purpose.

During World War II and at that stage named The Lamb, the pub was noted as a favourite drinking spot for those stationed at nearby Keevil Airfield and welcomed British, American, Polish and Canadian airmen.

Following extensive refurbishment, the Three Daggers reopened its doors during the Christmas of 2010. To complement the pub, in 2013 the oak timber frame farm shop and brewery were completed on the same site and these three elements make up the Three Daggers site seen today.

Dogs are welcome at £50 per dog per night.

"Hillside Country House and Spa in Edington is the most amazing place we have ever stayed. They have really thought of everything. Having a treatment room where you can book massages/beauty treatments, plus a pub and farm shop that serve fantastic food is the icing on the cake. And then there’s Jackie, the host who went above and beyond for us and made our wonderful weekend absolute perfection!"

I just wanted to give you some feedback after our 2 night stay.

Jackie met us at the house and she was lovely and welcoming. The house looked even nicer than the photos! The house had everything we could have wanted and it felt really luxurious.

The views from the house are stunning and we loved having the spa to ourselves. I couldn’t recommend the house enough so thank you for arranging our stay.

Hillside Country House is in a stunning location overlooking the valley, and I shall always remember sitting outside the sauna, by the jacuzzi, reluctant to leave that view and the tranquillity. The well equipped house suited our family of 12 very well, with plenty of room and a comfortable informality. The closeness of the pub and farmshop is a bonus, as are the lovely walks around the pretty village of Edington.

This property is new to our portfolio as of September 2017.

If you could leave a few words describing your stay it would be much appreciated!
