There are literature and music festivals. It is a place of pavement cafes, craft markets, historic pubs, street theatre, intimate bistros, chic restaurants and the utterly delightful Pump Room where you can take coffee or tea or dine whilst listening to live classical music, just like the Georgians did 250 years ago.
There are many gardens (Botanic Gardens, Prior Park Landscape Garden , Courts Garden, Peto garden at Iford Manor, Stourhead ) stately homes near Bath: Dyrham Park, The American Museum, Corsham Court, Lacock Abbey, Bowood House, Tyntesfield.
