You can also get to all the other major attractions of Bath within a 5-15 minute walk - such as the Roman Baths, the Pump Room, the Jane Austen Centre, Thermae Spa, Bath Abbey, the Assembly Rooms, Theatre Royal and Pulteney Bridge. You have a fabulous Italian restaurant below where you will feel like you have gone to Mama's kitchen for dinner. The award winning Green Bird cafe is a few meters away and open all day for breakfast, lunch, cakes and some of the best coffee you will have. They also have outdoor seating for those sunny days. Chequers gastro pub is close by as is the Circus restaurant. Both highly recommended. There is a small super market close by or larger super markets within walking distance.

The city of Bath is one of the most beautiful places to visit in England and is a World Heritage site (UNESCO) . Its a small city with a unique heritage and you can walk from the townhouse to almost all of the attractions. It is best known for its Roman Baths with natural hot springs and its extensive elegant Georgian architecture, the two best known examples of which (The Royal Crescent and The Circus) are both within a one minute walk of this townhouse.

Bath has a beautiful 16th century abbey and many museums (Main ones: Roman Baths, No1 Royal Crescent, Fashion Museum/Assembly Rooms, The Building of Bath Museum, The Holburne Museum, The Victoria Art Gallery, The American Museum (culture, interior design, exhibitions, glorious gardens and views), Herschel Museum of Astronomy & East Asian Art). There is a thermae bath spa complex , so you can bathe in naturally heated water including a rooftop pool, and you can book a range of treatments.

Bath is a mecca for the discerning shopper with many independent shops and small chains . In particular you will find fantastic clothes, shoes, artisan food, furnishings, home accessories, art, antiques and other collectables. The extensive Christmas market runs for two and half weeks and is amazingly atmospheric because of the spectacular Georgian backdrop. It attracts thousands of visitors.

Bath boasts an excellent historic theatre (Theatre Royal Bath - built 1805) , arts cinemas (Little Theatre), (Tivoli), comedy theatre: Komedia, Odeon complex and some bookshops ( Topping especially) run almost weekly talks by authors. There are literature and music festivals. It is a place of pavement cafes, craft markets, historic pubs, street theatre, intimate bistros, chic restaurants and the utterly delightful Pump Room where you can take coffee or tea or dine whilst listening to live classical music, just like the Georgians did 250 years ago.

There are lovely walks from the townhouse: to the Botanic Gardens and Victoria Park, The Kennet & Avon canal, around the Georgian Crescents and other architectural features and the various Bath skyline walks.

The Cotswolds, Bradford Upon Avon, Wells, Glastonbury, Avebury, Stonehenge and Bristol are all within driving distance.

Lovely place to stay in a great location for exploring the city.
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Adam - 2024-04-01
Fantastic place right in the centre of Bath, good communication, clean and tidy with everything you could need. Highly recommended - nothing to fault.
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Richard - 2024-03-10
We had a lovely few days here. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The interior design was beautiful and in keeping with Georgian Bath. We enjoyed being close to restaurants and shops and equally loved coming back to the house to relax. The children loved having the top floor and we all had enough space. Thanks so much.
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Rose - 2024-02-17
The perfect spot to explore Bath. The townhouse was fabulous - very comfortable, just like the photos and very well equipped with all that you need - would highly recommend.
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Suzie - 2024-02-11
Bath is so quaint. Our place was a perfect location and our hostess were extremely helpful.
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Donna - 2024-01-05
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Its plush but homely and comfortable at the same time. It’s quiet but close to the city centre which is perfect ! We very much enjoyed a breakfast and evening meal at the cafe/restaurant which is below the flat called The Crescent. We had a small electrical issue that was responded to and resolved very quickly. We would 100% stay there again !
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Maxine - 2023-10-16
Full of character clean and everything we needed in a relaxing break. Great food just next door in the Crescent
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Sue - 2023-09-19
Lovely English style apartment. Absolutely amazing to have breakfast at The Green Bird Cafe. Quiet neighborhood and perfect walking distance to most city centre tourist attractions
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Anita - 2023-09-04
Great place, beautifully decorated, perfect location, walking distance to everything. Very comfortable. There is a great restaurant just next door called Crescent as well as a cafe. Highly recommend this place
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Tamara - 2023-07-31
We had the most wonderful stay for our mums 60th birthday. The property is in a great location by the Royal Crescent and the Circus, with only a 10-15 minute walk to the shops, restaurants and other attractions in the city centre. We could not fault the accommodation in any way! It has been decorated with such attention to detail, the kitchen is well equipped and the beds were very comfy! The host was fantastic and provided us with so much information about the accommodation and surrounding area prior to our stay. I could even download an app to my iPhone with all of this information. Even though the accommodation doesn’t come with parking, it is easy enough to park in Charlotte Street car park which is only about a 10 minute walk away. We would definitely stay again!
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Laura - 2023-07-17
This narrow townhouse is on a cute little pedestrian street right by the Crescent and the Circus, with a friendly cafe below and nice and quiet after it closed up at night. Everything inside was serene, clean, and tasteful, with modern kitchen and bathrooms. There was lots of natural light and good cross-ventilation on a warm day. Parking in the area might be a challenge (as is common in Bath), but being dropped off by an Uber on Brock Street meant it was less than a minute’s walk to the front door. The lockbox made it a breeze to get inside.
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Frank - 2023-07-09
Beautiful place to stay. Ideal location. We really enjoyed it. Shame that the council stopped giving out parking permits. Would definitely come again.
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Jill - 2023-05-07
If you want a house in bath close to the attractions on the bus route, near to restaurants, bars and clubs, this is the place to be. Spotlessly clean, very roomy, stunning master bedroom. Only down side was that the WiFi was very poor. Whilst we could connect the speed and functionality was poor.
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Francesca - 2023-05-01
My family and I stayed at this property in Bath for four nights and found it comfortable and well laid out. The two bathrooms were great (although the water temperature in the showers was a little cool for our North American tastes). The kitchen was well stocked and we used all of the appliances without issue. The arrival package was very welcome and included cereal and milk as well as a supply of coffee pods - very much appreciated. We had a few comfortable and cozy nights in and there was room for everyone to watch Bridgerton and spot the sites we had seen that day. The space is very well located and only a short walk from the train station and the main attractions. We were able to walk past some key Jane Austen street names on our way to the historic centre!! The beds were comfy and the place was super quiet. Recommend highly.

Fab few nights with girlfriends.
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Nicola - 2023-03-26
This house was perfect for our weekend away; everything clean and comfortable and close enough to the city centre to be able to pop in and out. I selected it as I know this street is quiet (despite the shops etc, everything is very calm and quiet in the evenings and overnight) and it did not disappoint. Thank you
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Katrina - 2023-03-06
Wonderful stay
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Mark - 2023-01-03
Our stay was wonderful. We are a family of five staying over Christmas and we loved it. The Christmas tree and decorations were excellent and being able to have access early on our arrival day was perfect. The location was stunning. So close to everything. Bath is so beautiful we really enjoyed our stay.
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Alissa - 2022-12-28
We had a lovely stay in Bath. Our accommodation was exactly as described and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook up a feast, including delicious biscuits to have with a cup of tea. Bath Holiday Rentals were excellent to deal with and provided all the info we needed to find and make the best out of our stay. Location was perfect in a quiet cobbled street in between the Royal Crescent and the Royal Circle. Great shops, restaurants and pubs were a short walk away.
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Bethany - 2022-12-18

Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Emma - 2022-10-23
We had a really lovely stay. The house is gorgeous, full of charm and in such a lovely area of Bath. It’s just a short walk down to the shops. The keys were left for us in a safe box for our arrival and then everything was set out for us in a pack in the house so we knew what to do about keys and the car permit etc. We would highly recommend staying here :-)
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Debs - 2022-09-18

Our group greatly enjoyed the location of this comfortable apartment - situated between the Royal Crescent and The Circus - in the upper town. The apartment suited us very well - it was clean, beautifully furnished and we were made to feel at home. A very enjoyable trip.
Margaret's 1770 Townhouse Fiona - 2021-07-04
A lovely centrally located townhouse perfect for the weekend getaway. As we had expected, there are quite a number of stairs as it’s set over three floors plus the initial stairs from the ground floor. Not an issue for us, good to get our steps in! Nicely decorated with good bathrooms (good showers) and very comfy beds. Kitchen is well equipped and helpfully includes tea, coffee, sugar etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the location, it was easy to walk everywhere or a short Uber at the end of the night post sore feet! Would highly recommend.
